Mr. Vargas is a specialist in project, portfolio and risk management with over 17 years’ of experience in the energy, infrastructure, telecommunications, information technology and finance sectors. An author of 14 books on the subject of Project Management, he was the first Latin American to be elected Chairman of the Board of the Project Management Institute (PMI), the world’s largest project management association. Mr. Vargas is a Chemical Engineer, holds a master’s in Industrial Engineer from the Federal University of Minas Gerais and is a PhD candidate in Civil Engineering at the Fluminense Federal University in Brazil. He also has certificates from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Harvard University and George Washington University.
